2002 BMW R1150RT
After some intense cleanup and an oil change, I take the bike out for a quick Sunday morning ride in clear 30 degree weather !! It is absolutely amazing how well the fairing and the adjustable windshield protect the rider. The heated grips don't hurt either. Having owned several boxers, this engine is definitely tight and is still breaking in. The radio works, but I'm not sure how useful it is since I always wear a full face helmet. I may opt for a couple more inches of windshield height to be ideal, but other than that the bike exceeds expectations....
With the Triumph sold to help finance the 999, the two-wheeled stable was down to 2 sport bikes. The Aprilia goes up for sale and I searched the web and club ads for more of a sport-touring machine. I love any air/oil cooled engine, and always liked the styling of the R1150RT, so a relatively short hunt turned up this 4K mile bike with all the luggage and in my ideal color for this bike.
