2003 BMW R1150GSA

Boulangerie Briskly

Classic Velocity

Temperatures in the 40s to begin, but it warmed up considerably as the morning progressed. Great scenery along the river as it released vapor into the warming day. Speckled sunlight through spring trees mixed with patches of shade. This is spring. A stop for Cafe Au Lait and Brioche at a favorite spot, and then back along a different but equally picturesque route. The GS was its usual brilliant self.

Passenger Improvements

Classic Velocity

The good thing about this GSA is that you can still find some accessories for it. The bad thing is that the prices are still high. In this case, a Touratech option to add width and padding for the passenger seat is still listed at $200. However, the MOA marketplace surfaced the same thing for $40. Sold. It also features a grab bar. Looks good, works good, and gets the machine ready for the season. Only negative is that I need to rethink the rear luggage options...

In Case

Classic Velocity

The last time I opted to use a Pelican case, it was a great multi-year, multi-bike experience. It took a beating on the R12GSA and the R100 GSPD. Weather, drops off-road, etc were all taken in stride, and it went with the GSA when it was sold. This case was on sale, and despite having a factory top box, I wanted a Pelican on the back once again. Getting it mounted took a year on the to do list, but it is finally done and feels right. It can take a dry bag on top, hold enough for overnight, and is weather proof. Sorted.
